IIP Announces the National Conference on The Future of Packaging: Innovate. Integrate. Inspire.

News Desk, News Nation 360 : The Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), which has been serving the packaging and related industries nationwide for the past 60 years under the administrative control of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, is pleased to announce the National Conference on "The Future of Packaging: Innovate. Integrate. Inspire." IIP is the national apex body dedicated to raising packaging standards through education, research, testing, and consulting. The dates of this historic two-day event are set for February 26 and 27, 2026, in Kolkata. The conference will explore the ways in which the rise of digitalisation and the need for environmental accountability are influencing the world of packaging. This is an important platform for industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators to engage with the new opportunities and challenges facing the industry. The conference will also address important issues such as the influence of AI & ML in the authentication of products, the need to integrate the circular economy in the management of plastic waste through the application of Extended Producer Responsibility, and the development of new technologies for the recycling of plastics. A highlight of the conference will be the discussion on the topic of the Rise of the Eastern & North-Eastern Economy with Packaging as a Pilot, where the potential of the industry will be discussed. The conference will also feature a Start-up & Research Conclave to support the development of new technologies, in addition to other technical sessions and poster presentations. The conference will be inaugurated by the esteemed dignitaries Rajesh Pandey, IAS; Surendra Gupta, IAS; and P.K. Bharadwaj, NABARD, bringing together the best in the field of packaging and research. The conference will be concluded with an awards function that will honour the best in packaging innovations, thereby establishing Kolkata as an important destination for the design of the future.
