SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk, News Nation 360 : CirQula India, a prominent authorised e-waste management company, collaborated with student-led volunteer organisation Nirmyx to responsibly recycle more than 500 kilograms of electronic and electrical waste collected during a month-long e-waste collection drive throughout Kolkata, demonstrating its dedication to responsible e-waste management and environmental sustainability. To promote ecologically responsible disposal of end-of-life devices and improve circular economy practices, the project brought together industry experts, young leaders, and community engagement in honour of World Environment Day. The initiative was led by a dedicated team of ten students from Modern High School for Girls under the banner of Nirmyx. They mobilised citizens throughout Kolkata to responsibly dispose of end-of-life electronic devices. The campaign successfully raised awareness about the growing need for sustainable waste management practices. Barbara Voss, the Consul General of Germany in Kolkata, and Priyasha Singhania, the Founder and CEO of CirQula India, attended the event. They highlighted the importance of responsible e-waste management and youth engagement in sustainability. They also emphasised the need for

collaborative action towards environmental stewardship. CirQula India acted as the authorised recycling partner for this campaign. They ensured the scientific collection, transportation, and environmentally compliant processing of the e-waste. The collected material was initially stored at Rajarhat for safekeeping. It was then officially handed over to CirQula India for recycling through authorised channels. This collective effort prevented hazardous electronic waste from entering landfills and causing environmental degradation. The event commenced with the collection of e-waste from Rajarhat by a designated CirQula vehicle. Nirmyx volunteers accompanied the vehicle as it proceeded to the German Consulate General's office. This location served as the symbolic culmination point of the entire green campaign. Priyasha Singhania, Founder & CEO, CirQula India, stated that at CirQula, they think that awareness and group effort are the first steps toward long-lasting transformation. The Nirmyx team's zeal and dedication are incredibly motivating and highlight how young activists can have a significant environmental impact. It is now necessary to manage e-waste responsibly to preserve important resources and save the environment. They are honoured to collaborate with outstanding programs like this one that inspire people to recycle responsibly and support a circular economy.
