Distinguished Visitors Celebrated Annual Sports Day at St. Joan's School Newtown

It was a memorable day because of the distinguished dignitaries, parents, guardians, and well-wishers who graced the occasion. A pillar of St. Joan's School, the Annual Sports Day demonstrates the school's dedication to a well-rounded education. With more than thirty years of history, the school has consistently produced well-rounded people who thrive in academics, athletics, and other fields. The event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Padmashri Prof. Dr Indira Chakraborty, a renowned public health specialist, Krishna Chakraborty, the Mayor of Bidhan Nagar Municipal Corporation, and Tapas Chatterjee, MLA Newtown and Chairman of the Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Standing Committee. Special Guests gracing the occasion were Rahima Bibi Mondal and Tulsi Sinha Roy, Member of the Mayor-in-Council, two ex-Indian footballers of great repute Bikash Panji and Sumit Mukherjee, Rev. Sr. Pascal and Rev. Sr. Georgina of Lavinia House, former Principal of St. Joseph's School, Bow Bazar and Neville McNamara. Along with consular representatives from the People's Republic of China, His Excellency Qin Yong, the Deputy Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Kolkata, served as the celebration's chief guest.
