ESI Hospital Maniktala has Achieved a Significant Milestone in Providing Advanced and Modern Healthcare Services

News Desk, News Nation 360 : The ESI Hospital located in Maniktala, Kolkata, has achieved an important milestone in public healthcare facilities, as it has inaugurated its new block, which contains 19 state-of-the-art beds in the Intensive Therapy Units. This was inaugurated by the Labour Minister of West Bengal, Moloy Ghatak, on February 26, 2026. This upgrade will increase the number of beds in the Intensive Therapy Units to 52. It has cost the government ₹4.95 crore. This upgrade will help the government save significant amounts of money, as it will reduce its dependence on private partner facilities. It will also provide workers in the state’s workforce with access to quality healthcare, which will save lives. It will be able to provide healthcare to many people, especially those who are referred from other ESI hospitals located throughout the state. During the inauguration ceremony, Sujit Bose, Minister for Fire and Emergency Services, was present, along with other local leaders. This upgrade will help the government achieve its goal of self-reliance. It will be part of an upgrade of all ESI facilities, which will provide workers with comprehensive medical care. With the number of patients attending the Outpatient Departments in the hospital’s speciality areas, like cardiology and nephrology, being as high as 600 daily, this upgrade will be an important addition to the hospital’s 500 beds.
