News Desk, News Nation 360 : As part of its continuous efforts to rehabilitate street children and facilitate their return to formal education, Malabar Group is extending its Micro Learning Centres (MLCs) to other states and areas. To reintegrate them into regular education, the program focuses on offering structured care and basic learning support to kids who are not attending school because of social or financial difficulties. Malabar Group’s Micro Learning Centres (MLCs) across India are expanding to enable street children to get their bearings back in formal education. Under the banner of Hunger Free World, 1,534 MLCs in 18 states have been making a significant impact on the lives of over 64,000 children, mostly from urban slums. The initiative provides food, basic literacy skills, and social reintegration assistance to children in forced labour or those who have been out of school. To take this initiative forward, a week-long training session for coordinators and volunteers is underway at the Group’s headquarters in Kozhikode. With nearly 20 million children on India’s streets, Chairman M.P. Ahammad emphasises the corporate responsibility to provide a route back to society. This initiative by the Group is part of their commitment to contribute 5% of their profits to making a difference in society, particularly in meeting the educational and nutritional needs of India’s most disadvantaged urban youth.
