Gobardhan Ash's Retrospective is Proudly Presented by Prinseps

News Desk, News Nation 360 : Leading avant-garde art house Prinseps is happy to announce The Retrospective of Gobardhan Ash, a comprehensive exhibition honouring the life and work of this groundbreaking Indian modernist, opening on September 1, 1969. The exhibition focuses on the years 1929–1969. Actress Riya Sen and Moon The Catalogue Raisonne for the Exhibition is inaugurated by actress Moon Sen. Indrajit Chatterjee, Brijeshwari Kumari Gohil, Ina Puri, Richa Agarwal, and numerous others were present. The public is welcome to view the free exhibition, which will be on display at the Kolkata Centre for Creativity from March 29 to April 21, 2024. Gobardhan Ash (1907-1969), a pioneer of Indian modernism, is being celebrated in a major retrospective exhibition. Ash, who defied artistic norms throughout his life, is having his creative journey explored through over 100 works of art. The exhibition showcases the variety of his artistic

expression, including landscapes, portraits, and his well-known Children Series. This is a rare opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Ash's artistic evolution, his technical skills, and his unwavering commitment to shaping modern Indian art. Indrajit Chatterjee, Curator stated that with a landmark exhibition featuring over 100 artworks spanning four decades of his artistic excellence, including his iconic 'Avatar Series' from the late 1940s and his meditative landscapes of Bengal, Prinseps delves deeper into the artistic legacy of Bengal. They honour and celebrate Gobardhan Ash's lasting contribution to art history with this retrospective. This exhibition provides a rare chance to rediscover Ash's genius and immerse oneself in a crucial period of Indian art (1930s–1960s), and it comes with a thorough catalogue raisonne.
