News Desk, News Nation 360: Dr M. S. Purkait, Medical Superintendent at Techno India DAMA Hospital, Kolkata, has issued a health advisory to help people prevent serious health issues such as burns, respiratory distress due to inhalation of particles, hearing loss and unhealthy eating during Diwali. "While celebrating Diwali, people should wear proper cotton clothes and closed footwear. Fireworks should be used in a well-ventilated area and under the supervision of adults. If you get burned, you should immediately run cold water on the burnt area for 20 minutes. Don’t use any homemade solutions like toothpaste, ice, etc. People suffering from COPD, Bronchial Asthma and heart problems should avoid going outside during peak pollution hours. They should have their inhalers with them. If they have to go outside, they should wear an N95 mask. They should do their cardio exercises indoors. Avoid loud fireworks to prevent hearing loss in children and the elderly. Eat healthy food, stay hydrated and eat proper portions to avoid diabetes and stomach issues."
