SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk, News Nation 360: Ruby Cancer Centre, the state-of-the-art oncology department of Ruby General Hospital, organised a large walk to raise awareness of breast cancer and reaffirm its commitment to promoting early detection. The walk, which began from the hospital premises at 9 AM, had more than 350 participants, including 15 cancer survivors and their families, oncologists, medical professionals, nursing students and some big names from the world of sports and culture- Phalguni Chatterjee, Sudeshna Roy, Chandan Sen, Olympian Archer Dola Banerjee, Prof. Amita Dutt, etc. With the shocking statistic of one new case being diagnosed every four minutes and one death every 8 minutes in our country, the Ruby Cancer Centre’s doctors stressed how breast cancer often occurs without any lifestyle or hereditary reasons. They said regular mammograms, check-ups, and reporting early symptoms like painless lumps, skin changes, and nipple discharge can increase cure rates. Since 2014, Ruby General Hospital has been working alongside the Ruby Cancer Care & Research Foundation to increase community bonding and encourage preventative female healthcare.
