News Desk, News Nation 360 : With an emphasis on investment facilitation, ease of doing business, and ongoing industry-Government dialogue, the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the Government of Maharashtra signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to improve cooperation and strengthen engagement between Indian businesses and the State of Maharashtra. Dr Rajeev Singh, Director General, ICC, and Dr P. Anbalagan, IAS, Principal Secretary (Industry, Investment, and Services), Government of Maharashtra, signed the Memorandum of Understanding. Prominent business executives were also present for the signing. The MoU has been drawn up between the Indian Chamber of Commerce and the Government of Maharashtra, which provides a collaborative arrangement between them and which has the goal of establishing Maharashtra as a premier investment hotspot. The parties agree to collaborate and network with investors and provide channels for feeding back policies as a means of developing the industry. Under this arrangement, there would be annual business delegations organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce for Maharashtra so as to interact or meet with the Chief Minister and other officials. Further, there would be ministerial delegations from Maharashtra, which would be hosted at flagship events organised by the Chamber, so as to attract domestic and international investment. This would focus on developing the strengths of various sectors in the state as a means of expanding reach. The arrangement would allow for direct input from government and industry figures for structures and ease of business. The collaboration would enable both parties to pursue joint projects and activities. It comes into effect instantly and shall remain valid for an initial term of two years, after which it shall be renewed after consultation among the parties. Speaking at the event, Dr P. Anbalagan, IAS, stated that the collaboration with ICC would reinforce Maharashtra's commitment to building a facilitative and investor-friendly ecosystem while also strengthening the State's interaction with industry and investors.
