Renowned industrialist Srikanth Bolla, a visually impaired entrepreneur and Co-Founder & Chairman of Bollant Industries, along with Anand Roy, MD & CEO of Star Health Insurance, graced the launch event. To provide income-generating options for the 34 million visually impaired and blind people living abroad, Star Health has also started a diversity and financial inclusiveness campaign. It is devoted to providing this underserved and underprivileged segment of the community with upskilling and training so they can work with the company as health insurance brokers. Star Health Insurance has launched a new policy, "Special Care Gold," specifically designed to meet the healthcare needs of persons with disabilities (PWD) in India. The policy addresses the significant economic loss caused by vision impairment and aims to provide inclusive and comprehensive coverage. The company is also committed to supporting new agents with disabilities through fully funded exam preparations, audio training, and scribe services. To further enhance accessibility, Star Health Insurance has produced a Braille version of the policy document in collaboration with the National Association of the Blind. The policy offers tailored coverage for individuals with 40% or more disability, including essential medical treatments and support services. By providing flexible working arrangements and dedicated support, Star Health Insurance is striving to make income generation accessible to marginalized communities.
