Indian Society of Nephrology Witnessed Historical Gathering at their 53rd Annual Conference

News Desk, News Nation 360 : One of the biggest medical conferences in the nation, ISNCON 2023, kicked off its 53rd edition with a four-day conclave at Kolkata's ITC Royal Bengal. This landmark conference, bringing together experts, researchers, and practitioners from across the globe, was inaugurated by esteemed Chief Guest Padma Shri Dr Sanghamitra Bandopadhyay, Director of Indian Statistical Institute along with revered Guests of Honour, Dr Siddharth Niyogi, DHS, Govt of West Bengal, Special Guest, Baichung Bhutia, Former Captain of Indian Football Team along with Dr Sanjeev Gulati, President ISN, Dr H.S. Kholi, President-elect ISN, Dr S.B. Bansal, Secretary ISN, Dr A. R Dutta, Chairman Organising Committee ISNCON 2023, Dr Arghya Majumdar, Co-organising Chairman ISNCON23 and Dr Saubhik Sural, Organising Secretary ISNCON23. Scholars from ten different countries attended this year's ISNCON conference, making it one of the biggest medical conferences in the nation.

Six never-before-seen interactive workshops will be offered at the event, ranging in subject matter from cutting-edge advances in intervention and critical care nephrology to basic concepts like genetics and histopathology. Additionally, Dr Vivek Kumar and Prof N Gopalakrishnan are organising a workshop on research methodology and scientific writing to inspire students and upcoming nephrologists to conduct research in their own countries. The issues that kidney patients face worldwide, especially during pandemics and natural disasters, have been addressed by ISNCON 2023. The conference has been discussing ways to lessen the impact on people's ability to receive care, treatment, and diagnostics in times of emergency.

Furthermore, it has highlighted how important nephrologists are in tackling chronic kidney diseases locally and ensuring that patients in isolated places are aware of scientific advancements. Twelve international experts make up the guest faculty: Dr Amit Garg, the former president of the Canadian Society of Nephrology; Dr Dorry Segev, USA; Dr George Bakris, USA; Dr Ajay Sharma, Canada; Dr Camille Kotton, USA; and Dr Sandip Mitra, UK. Prof. Nangaku is the president of the International Society of Nephrology. Prof. Michelle Josephson is the president of the American Society of Nephrology. Prof. Graham Lipkin is the former president of the UK Renal Association. The triumph of ISNCON 2023 has underscored the importance of the Indian Society of Nephrology in propelling nephrology forward and tackling crucial healthcare issues. In the upcoming years, the Indian Society of Nephrology hopes to carry on the excellent work in the field.
