KFC opened its 1000th location in India as evidence of its commitment to expanding deliberately alongside the nation. This marks an important turning point in the company's more than 25-year history. Modern technology powers over twenty of KFC's all-digital Smart Restaurants, facilitating much faster and easier access for customers. Additionally, the fast food chain has installed self-ordering digital kiosks and app ordering throughout its locations. In celebration of the 1000th restaurant's launch, KFC has promised to provide food rations to 1000 impoverished families in India. The primary Diversity and Inclusivity initiative of KFC, Kshamata, aims to close the gender and ability gap by doubling the number of Special KFCs (restaurants run by employees with speech and hearing impairments) and growing the company's female workforce by two times. In ten years, KFC has expanded to 42 Special KFC locations and employs more than 220 people with speech and hearing impairments. In an attempt to help 1000 local eateries and fast-food chains rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic, the company introduced KFC's India Sahyog in 2021. The 1000th KFC restaurant can be found at DLF Cyber Hub, a well-liked shopping destination in Gurgaon. It is the brand's first restaurant in India with 100% table service, run and managed entirely by women.
