News Desk, News Nation 360 : Antiquity Natural Mineral Water, in collaboration with Kolkata Centre for Creativity (KCC), is excited to present "Dekh Rahe Hain Nayan," a three-day festival honouring the life, work, and significant contributions of one of the most influential playwrights and poets of post-independence India, Habib Tanvir, on his 100th birthday. "Dekh Rahe Hain Nayan," curated by M.K. Raina and Tausif Rahman with research and assistance from Anjum Katyal, is the first significant project to seriously consider Tanvir's body of work. To highlight Habib Tanvir's work and his significant influence on Indian theatre and art, this effort will feature a wide range of events, such as an exhibition, masterclasses, panel discussions, film screenings, dramatic storytelling, musical performances, book releases, and other cultural gatherings. The festival is a component of

Antiquity Natural Mineral Water's "Free to Discover More" campaign, which encourages young Indians to explore our rich cultural legacy for both new and legendary tales. Thus, this event offers a breathtaking exploration of India's theatrical heritage and how it influences artistic expression. Set for August 30 to September 1, 2024, the "Dekh Rahe Hain Nayan" festival will feature workshops from distinguished theatre professionals who are familiar with Tanvir's work, providing prospective performers and playwrights with exceptional learning chances. Renowned theatre scholars and specialists will lead panel discussions that will explore Tanvir's theory, his applicability in the modern world, and his lasting influence. A who's who of theatre, music, and literature, including Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Sudhir Mishra, Raghubir Yadav, MK Raina, Atul Tiwari, Danish Husain, Brahma Prakash, Samik Bandyopadhyay, Anjum Katyal, Ashok Vajpeyi, Suman Mukhopadhyay, Bibhas Chakraborty, Chandradasan, and Anuradha Kapur, among many others, appear on the three-day festival. Richa Agarwal, Chairperson of Kolkata Centre for Creativity (KCC), expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stated that in addition to being one of the most admirable theatrical figures in the nation, Habib Tanvir is also known as "Banglar jamai" in Bengal because of his Bengali wife, actress and theatre director Moneeka Misra, with whom he co-founded Naya Theatre in 1959. For the first time in Bengal, "Dekh Rahe Hain Nayan" pays unique homage to the illustrious Habib Tanir while offering a forum for thought-provoking conversation and the exchange of information. The festival is part of Antiquity Natural Mineral Water’s platform of ‘Free to Discover More’, that aims to inspire young India to discover both legendary tales and fresh voices in our rich heritage of art and culture. They sincerely hope that everyone will be genuinely interested in "Dekh Rahen Hain Nayan" and will participate in this festival honouring one of the greatest poets and playwrights India has ever produced.
