News Desk, News Nation 360 : Manipal Hospital Dhakuria successfully treated a 23-year-old female who had deep venous thrombosis, which may have been lethal if untreated. An immediate diagnosis at the emergency department indicated a clot in the leg's blood vessel. In addition to helping to expedite the decision to do a colonoscopy, Consultant Gastroenterologist Dr Kushan Sengupta, Consultant Cardiologist Dr Supratip Kundu, and Consultant Endovascular Surgeon Dr Shubhabrata Banerjee were crucial in advising the girl to continue the treatment. Due to the inability to diagnose the child's condition, she had to wait nearly six months after visiting several hospitals. Treatment was quicker and more efficient because of the hospital's state-of-the-art equipment and quick reaction. This instance emphasises the value of prompt colonoscopy in cases of lower gastrointestinal haemorrhage as well as the necessity of educating the patient and their family about the advantages of a procedure. After seven days, the hospital released her, and she is doing fine. She will continue to take her medication for a while longer. Dr Kushan Sengupta, Consultant Gastroenterologist, stated that the leg's blood vessel had a clot, according to the quick assessment. For the previous six months, she had complained of bleeding through her motion passage. Being a young woman from a conservative household, she originally objected to the planned colonoscopy. She received advice on the necessity of a colonoscopy since she would require blood thinners to treat the clot, but they were unable to begin those drugs because she was already bleeding internally. Nevertheless, she consented, and the colonoscopy was eventually carried out. The biopsy revealed ulcerative colitis as the cause of the large ulcers found during the colonoscopy. After starting steroids, she made tremendous progress.
