News Desk. News Nation 360: A complicated medical emergency involving a 65-year-old female patient who had been experiencing severe nausea and vomiting as a result of a stuck denture in her oesophagus was successfully addressed by ILS Hospitals, Dum Dum. A foreign body impaction compounded by an oesophageal stricture—a constriction that greatly raised the danger of oesophageal perforation and serious infection—was discovered when the patient was admitted on March 27, 2026, following many unsuccessful diagnoses elsewhere. In order to securely remove the denture without requiring invasive surgery, the medical team, under the direction of Dr Prateik Poddar, Head of the Department of Gastroenterology, carried out a precise endoscopic treatment. On March 31, 2026, the patient was released in stable condition after the successful removal and a brief period of post-operative observation. In order to resolve potentially fatal intestinal obstructions, this case emphasises the vital significance of timely gastroenterological intervention and sophisticated endoscopic methods.
