News Desk, News Nation 360: Eden Realty unveils its maiden 38-acre mixed-use riverfront district Kolkata Westshore on the Shalimar foreshore of Howrah, which could emerge as the growth-pole for a 700-acre integrated development area encompassing Kolkata’s legacy Botanical Garden (270 acres), IIEST Shibpur (150 acres), Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port/Kolkata Port Trust (125+ acres) and Indian Railways (200+ acres). The realty major has strategically positioned itself at the confluence of multi-modal transport networks, including the East-West Metro (under construction Green Line), ferry services at Shalimar Ghat, the proposed Water Metro Terminal at Shalimar Ghats, and the 7.2 km Kona Express Way flyover on either side of the Hooghly connecting Vidyasagar Setu. Eden Realty’s 38-acre Kolkata West shore project has been conceptualised into four key segments: Eden Devprayag (9 acres) – a luxury residential enclave with 28-storey towers offering 270-degree river views and a Banaras-style ghat; Solaris Shalimar (9 acres) – an ecological, community-centric housing segment; a 14-acre lifestyle, retail and educational strip; and a 6-acre hospitality segment with a 100-key five-star hotel. Eden Realty chairman Sachchidanand Rai and managing director Arya Sumant applauded the government’s initiative to shift focus to the other banks of Hooghly for developmental activity. “Kolkata Westshore will open up new economic avenues for Kolkata Metropolitan Area and position Kolkata as India’s eastern riverfront city,” they added.
