Manipal Hospitals Kolkata's "Pujor Rupokar 2.0" Honours the Unsung Heroes of Durga Puja

News Desk, News Nation 360: Manipal Hospitals Kolkata organised the occupational health and cultural felicitation program ‘Pujor Rupokar 2.0’ to honour the skilled hands behind the grand Bengal festival, which is a UNESCO-recognized art form. The program commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony and Devi Welcome Dance by the hospital’s nursing staff. Dr Ayanabh Debgupta, Regional Director, Manipal Hospitals East, welcomed the gathering. The event felicitated the artists and organisers of Kumartuli idol-making, Chandannagar light exhibition, Dhakis, and the pandal committee. It also included speeches by doctors on health-related issues pertinent to the artisans. Notable recipients of the felicitation include Kumartuli Sarbojonin office bearers Samar Mitra and Debasish Bhattacharjee, Kumartuli Mrit Shilpi Sanskriti Samity Assistant Secretary Babu Paul, National Award winner Mala Paul and Jhulan Paul, veteran sculptor Nemai Paul, Asian Paints winner Nabo Paul, Soumen Paul, and Sanatan Paul, Chandannagar lamp exhibition designers Tapan Ghosh, Tapas Ghosh, and Ashim Dey, and pandal representatives. In addition, the doctors at Manipal Hospitals provided crucial health insights to the artisans. They included Dr Parijat Deb Choudhury of Interventional Cardiology, Dr Sutanu Hazra of Orthopaedics, Dr Shilpita Banerjee of Gynaecology & Obstetrics, and Dr Indranil Das of Accident & Emergency Care. The doctors spoke on occupational diseases like musculoskeletal pain due to repetitive tasks, the effects of sleep deprivation on heart health, occupational heat stress, dust exposure, and nutritional aspects for female artisans.
