News Desk, News Nation 360: Dr Sudhir Chandra Sur Institute of Technology and Sports Complex (SurTech), an initiative of the JIS Group, recently organised the Young Innovators STEM Lab (YISL) Workshop on Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) in Kolkata, with the support of the Public Diplomacy Section at the United States Department of State, New Delhi, and in coordination with the JIS Drone Academy (RPTO), to provide students with a hands-on experience of STEM learning and promote experiential learning. Alongside the facilitators from STEAM Varsity, the keynote address was presented by Dr Chaitali Bhattacharya (Interim Executive Director & Chief Science Officer, Indo-US Science and Technology Forum – IUSSTF), Smt. Priya Thomas (Senior Program Officer, IUSSTF), Shri Dharam Raj Panwar (Co-Founder, STEAM Varsity) and Prof. (Dr.) Saradindu Panda (Principal, SurTech). During the interactive workshop, the engineering students explored WebXR, 3D spatial environment, design thinking, prototyping and building interactive experiences using Meta Quest headsets. JIS Group Director Sardar Simarpreet Singh highlighted that the aim of SurTech is to empower students with the right technology tools to enable them to develop into future-ready innovators and leaders.
