News Desk, News Nation 360: Taking off in true record numbers, IIM Bangalore formally launched the inaugural 2026-30 cohort of its four-year BSc (Hons) Programmes in Data Sciences and Economics at the new IIM Bangalore – Dorabji Tata School of Undergraduate Studies welcoming in Jigani 80 accepted candidates (40 in each course, selected from nearly 12,000 students across 20 states) during a ceremony addressed by Board of Governors Chairperson Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, Tata Trusts CEO Mr. Siddharth Sharma, Director-in-charge Prof. U. Dinesh Kumar and Officiating Dean of UG Programmes Prof. Mukta Kulkarni. Focused on producing a crop of bilingual, multi-disciplinary thinkers prepared to lead India’s Fourth Industrial Revolution, IIM Bangalore boasts of a robust mandate to upscale its excellence in higher education with support from a generous grant from Tata Trusts, a land donation by the Government of Karnataka and partner sponsorships that will see 25% of the founding cohort receive a full or partial scholarship as the institute sets out on a long road to growing to 2,400 students and 150 teaching staff by 2034.
