Mizoram Woman Embraces Motherhood Twice Naturally at Manipal Hospital's Emergency Department Bypass

Dr Shilpita Banerjee, who handled both the pregnancies, shared that managing recurrent pregnancies in a kidney transplant recipient is unusual and necessitates meticulous planning. They had to balance her meds, protect the donated kidney, and closely monitor the baby's development. Her fortitude and belief in the medical procedure enabled remarkable outcomes. Lallianpuii was first diagnosed with chronic renal disease over a decade ago and got her first kidney transplant in 2012. After experiencing graft rejection, she needed a second transplant in 2020. Despite the physical and mental hurdles of chronic immunosuppressive medication, she beat the odds and conceived spontaneously twice. During her first pregnancy in 2023, Lallianpuii gave birth to a healthy baby girl following a closely monitored trip that earned her medical team praise. Just two years later, in 2025, she conceived naturally again and gave birth to a healthy male baby weighing 3.2 kg via caesarean section at 36+6 weeks. Both pregnancies were free of major complications, and her kidney function was consistent throughout.
