The "Surviving the Betrayal" Movement Demands More Legal Protection and Assistance for Women

News Desk, News Nation 360: Speaking at a press conference about the challenges facing women in marital disputes, Rimjhim Jain announced the beginning of her Surviving the Betrayal campaign with the hashtags #SurvivingTheBetrayal and #WivesStandingTogether and called for reforms in laws, systems, and community support for wives who are deserted, unfaithful, or involved in litigation over bigamy, unauthorised remarriage, and other issues. Citing her own experience with marital problems, Jain spoke of the obstacles in the Indian judicial system for women and called for a change in the attitude and approach of authorities and society in general, removing the burden of proof in bigamy or harassment cases and allowing victims to speak out and protect themselves; through this campaign, she hopes to create a permanent national platform for women to tell their stories and fight for their rights in court.
