SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk, News Nation 360: On March 18, 2026, NPCI BHIM Services Limited (NBSL) announced that Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the former captain of the Indian cricket team and the World Cup winner, has been roped in as the Brand Ambassador for the BHIM Payments App, rechristened as "Bharat Ka Apna Payments App." As the BHIM Payments App is set to complete a decade in the digital payment space, it is relying on the trust, reliability, and consistency that MS Dhoni enjoys in the country to take the digital payment space into the next growth phase, which will be focused on scale and inclusion. According to Lalitha Nataraj, MD & CEO, NBSL, "The vision is to make BHIM the go-to payment app for every Indian household, and we are doing this by instilling confidence in the app through a brand ambassador like MS Dhoni, who is synonymous with guiding people on the right path." MS Dhoni himself has said, "The BHIM app has been committed to ensuring that digital transactions are made easy for every citizen of India, and as we are moving into a digital-first world, we are committed to ensuring that digital transactions are made easy for every citizen of India." The BHIM app, which supports more than 15 regional languages, has been optimised for low-connectivity scenarios, and it is expanding into Tier 1, 2, and 3 towns, relying on rewards-driven growth as it strengthens its presence in rural and semi-urban areas as a credible, homegrown, and trusted financial platform.
