SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk, News Nation 360: Renowned actress and singer Monali Thakur, along with brand founders Mehuli Goswami Thakur, Sanchita Chatterjee, and Sarbani Basu Thakur, officially opened Bandhabi The Store, Ribs Lifestyle, and Designer's Collection's first joint lifestyle flagship store at 35C Hindustan Park in Kolkata. The site is intended to be an immersive, personal, and artistic retail experience that effortlessly connects handcrafted fashion, artisanal luxury, nature-inspired decor, and conscious lifestyle choices under one roof. It is open every day except Sundays from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM. Bandhabi The Store, founded in 2004 by artist and designer Mehuli Goswami Thakur, specialises in skin-friendly, pure organic silk, tussar, and cotton textiles free of polyester blends. Over the past five years, it has grown into a worldwide online platform renowned for its wearable artistry, showcasing sarees, kaftans, kurtis, and modern silhouettes that are individually hand-painted or hand-embroidered by talented domestic artisans. Inspired by the founder's mother, Chhaya, Ribs Lifestyle launched Chhayanest, a dedicated green lifestyle sub-initiative that offers exotic plants and artistic planters designed to inject natural serenity into modern urban homes; Designer's Collection by Sarbani Basu Thakur completes the collaborative trinity, adding an extra dimension of curated elegance and distinctive personal style to the retail destination; and Ribs Lifestyle by Sanchita Chatterjee has grown from a home-grown initiative. The three founders stressed in a joint statement that the store embodies the development of their individual creative journeys into a common vision of authenticity and timeless Indian heritage, fusing organic textiles with exquisite leatherwork and carefully chosen greenery to promote community dialogue and mindful consumption firmly anchored in Kolkata's cultural spirit.
