In domains including medicine development, environmental preservation, public health, and digital security, new problems are created every day. In this regard, the students of Scottish Church College in Kolkata have shown that young people can, in fact, solve tomorrow's issues given the proper direction and opportunity. The Kathakali Debnath Innovation Centre hosted an event on the college campus on Tuesday to honour the outstanding students. The Kathakali Debnath Innovation Centre awards were held at the Scottish Church College. In that ceremony, Principal Dr Madhumanjari Mandal and many other dignitaries spoke of the need to create a research-oriented culture among the students. The highlight of the evening was when the Computer Science student team, consisting of Sagnik Chakraborty, Sourya Sarkar, and Sayan Saha, developers of the "White Box" project that combined blockchain and cryptography to secure vehicular information, received the award of one lakh rupees from the KD STEM Foundation. Within the environmental sphere, Microbiology students Safina Pal, Asmita Mandal, and Anusuya Bhowmick designed the “BioShield Patch” as a “natural pest repellent." The “Alpha Doc” idea was also presented, which aims to create a Human-AI ecosystem to significantly accelerate and make drug discovery more precise. Funded by patrons such as Gautam Debnath and Praveen Kumar Das, these projects represent the students’ commitment to addressing the world's issues using technology and science, combining hardware, artificial intelligence, and nature for a safer and environmentally friendly world in the future.
