News Desk, News Nation 360 : Asmika Das, a little child from Ranaghat, West Bengal, has a rare disease, spinal muscular atrophy. The cost of her care is quite high, making it nearly impossible for a middle-class family to support him alone. Asmika's family made a nationwide appeal for assistance since they were running out of time and needed life-saving medication within six months. In an inspiring exhibition of empathy, Secretary of the Sagardighi Winner Welfare Trust in Murshidabad Sanjib Das's daughter, six-year-old Barsha Das, showed incredible sensitivity towards a younger girl called Asmika. When she heard of the difficulties faced by Asmika's family, Barsha, being just a child herself, generously donated her all-piggy bank savings to assist. Upon her return from school, she opened her piggy bank to find about five thousand rupees, hard-earned from her daily tiffin money and gifts from her relatives. Barsha's mother, Jhumki Das, attested to her daughter's regular saving nature, pointing to her emerging philanthropic spirit, similar to that of her father, who had a strong penchant for

charitable causes. Barsha and her parents, gifted the five thousand rupees, along with fifteen thousand rupees donated by the Sagardighi Winner Welfare Trust, amounting to twenty thousand rupees, to Asmika's family. The occasion, attended by Payal Mithai Sarkar, MD of Payal Mithai Sarkar Organization and actress, also included the donation of milk, food, and fruits. In addition, the Payal Mithai Sarkar organization donated a one lakh rupee cheque for Asmika's treatment in a generous gesture of support from the television world. Payal Mithai Sarkar's participation represented a trailblazing initiative from a television celebrity, accompanied by Bachcha Gang's mother Sudipa Chatterjee and other trust members such as Ujir Sekh and Bishwajit Saha, all demonstrating a strong act of community solidarity and philanthropy.
