SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk. News Nation 360 : With a Gross Written Premium (GWP) of over ₹1,100 crore in FY26—a 10% rise from the previous year—Star Health and Allied Insurance has considerably expanded its presence in West Bengal. The corporation continues to hold a commanding 31.3% market share in the retail health segment, which is part of a larger national trend. With more than 75 branches, more than 62,100 advisors, and more than 600 network hospitals, Star Health currently safeguards over 14.7 lakh lives in West Bengal alone. CEO Anand Roy emphasised that the state shows a distinct change in consumer behaviour, with families valuing organised health insurance more for financial security. In 9MFY26, the company settled over 92.7k claims worth around ₹460 crore in the state, demonstrating that claims servicing is still a key competence. In order to increase accessibility, Star Health is growing digital health services like telemedicine and home healthcare, which have already reached around 6,000 clients in the area, and scaling AI-driven processing, processing 96% of cashless claims in less than three hours.
