The idol, crafted over several weeks by students from Techno India Group Public Schools, Techno Main Salt Lake, and Techno India University, will make its international debut at the Lalbaba Rice Thames Durga

This year's creation marks the third consecutive year of students making sustainable Durga idols, with previous years featuring idols made from unused engineering products and fabric. The students' dedication and artistry are evident in the handcrafted masterpiece, showcasing their commitment to eco-friendly practices and cultural traditions. Prof Manoshi Roychowdhury, Co-Chairperson, Techno India Group stated that the students' eco-friendly Maa Durga idol, crafted from tissue paper, fabric, and vibrant paints, is a testament to their creativity and commitment to sustainability. This year's rendition, created over four weeks under the guidance of senior faculty members, marks the third consecutive year of such an endeavour. As Durga Puja is a significant cultural event, the students' efforts to balance creativity with environmental responsibility are commendable. The idol's participation in the Thames Parade is a testament to the students' talent and the international reach of local traditions. Ace music composers Sourendro Soumyojit, Prof. Manoshi Roychowdhury, Co-Chairperson, and Meghdut Roy Chowdhury, Founder Make Calcutta Relevant Again & Chief Innovation Officer, Techno India Group, were present for the big unveiling. The sound of traditional dhaaks added a celebratory vibe to the air.
