Bundi Maharaj, The Sangeet Vidyapeeth successfully hosted Guru Shraddhanjali, a beautiful musical evening dedicated to the memory and legacy of three renowned characters in Indian classical music. Sw Pt Bundi Maharaj, Tabla Samrat. Sw Pt Mohan Lal Mishra, the Sangeet Shiromani, and Sw Pt Damodar Mishra, the renowned Gayan Acharya. The memorial concert saw compelling performances by famous performers that highlighted the depth, discipline, and everlasting relevance of Indian classical music. The highlight of the event was a stunning classical vocal duet performed by Pt Deepak Mishra and Pt Prakash Mishra, renowned exponents of the Benaras Gharana and fifteenth-generation torchbearers of a musical lineage stretching over five centuries. Speaking on the occasion, Pt Deepak Mishra stated that music has not ended in the present time. While it is true that the younger generation may not listen to classical music as much, its relevance stays constant. He believes that frequent riyaaz and honest learning lead to beneficial transformations in life, bringing happiness, tranquilly, and comfort. Music also instils discipline and leads to inner satisfaction and fulfilment. The concert featured a wide variety of classical ragas, including Vrindavani Sarang, Bhimpalashri, and Patdeep Multani. Puriya Kalyan & Shyam Kalyan A beautiful Swardhaara Bhajan gave a religious dimension to the concert, making a truly affecting experience for the audience.
