The 47th International Kolkata Book Fair 2024 will Soon Begin

News Desk, News Nation 360 : The 47th International Kolkata Book Fair 2024 is going to be inaugurated soon. Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will preside over the inaugural ceremony at 4 p.m. alongside Alex Ellis CMG, the Hon'ble British High Commissioner in India, Alison Barrett MBE, the Country Director of the British Council, India, Bani Basu, West Bengal government ministers, and other dignitaries. At the inaugural ceremony, Bani Basu will receive a Life Time felicitation worth Rs 2,00,000/-from Dr Rama Prasad Goenka, CESC Sristi Samman 2024. Book publishers and small magazines (big, medium, small, and little magazines) participated in the greatest number, approximately 1000. The greatest quantity of international publishers this year. Publishers from all over India are represented this year. USA, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Russia, Spain, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Thailand, and about 20 other countries participated. About fifty publishers will be present at the Bangladesh pavilion. The London Tower Bridge Gate, Bethune School Gate, Tarashankar 125 Gate, Lorca 125 Gate, and Father Diettenne are the nine major gates. Metro East West, Sealdah to Karunamayee & Central Park Station are connected. More Metro will operate on all Sundays and with increased frequency. Unique Book Fair The transportation department offers bus service, in addition to private bus and app-cab services. The fare and auto service were fixed. Children's Day celebration: On January 21, free copies of Pandab Goendar Prothom Obhijaan books will be given to kids. This is their meek homage to Sastipada Chattopadhyay, who departed from this life a year ago. On January 24, at 4:30 p.m., is Senior Citizens Day. Felicitation will be given to publisher Debajyoti Datta, reader Saswati Adhikari, and writer Abul Basar. Theme Country UK Day celebration: January 19, 2024, starting at 5:00 p.m. Bangladesh Day will be observed on January 20 starting at 5:30 p.m. As book publishers, they go through a lot of paper, which means a lot of trees are cut down. They are doing a tree planting ceremony during the Book Fair days for the first time as a way to give back to the environment.
