SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk, News Nation 360 : Manipal Hospitals, a premier multispecialty healthcare facility in Eastern India, has launched a state-of-the-art comprehensive neuro team, ushering in a new era of integrated neurological treatment. This significant initiative, announced at a press conference at Manipal Hospital, Mukundapur, brings together neurologists, neurosurgeons, neurointerventionalists, neuroradiologists, and neurorehabilitation specialists to provide seamless, multidisciplinary therapy for a wide range of brain, spine, and nerve problems. The program, emphasised by Dr. Jayanta Roy, Director & Advisor, Regional Head (East) – Neurology, focuses on timely intervention, clinical excellence, and holistic healing, offering top-notch, research-supported care for both adults and children. Renowned neuro specialists like Dr. Amlan Mandal, Dr. Nikhil Prasun Singh, and Dr. Dipendra Kumar Pradhan were present, alongside experts from other departments, such as Dr. Indranil Ghosh. Demonstrating their commitment to inclusive healthcare, Manipal Hospitals collaborated with Asha Niketan, an NGO supporting children with autism, by providing free neuro consultations for these children, highlighting their aim of delivering quality medical care to every child. A key feature of this advanced neuro project is the Acute Stroke Management Programme, which adheres to global Stroke Code guidelines. This program ensures rapid patient evaluation, instant neuroimaging, and early treatments like thrombolysis or clot retrieval within the crucial "golden hour," often dictating recovery outcomes. This is further bolstered by a robust Neuro Trauma Management service, offering emergency treatment for head injuries from various incidents, with a well-trained trauma team and advanced surgical facilities for quick, often life-saving interventions. Manipal Hospitals also boasts a dedicated Paediatric Neurology and Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), managed by pediatric neurologists and critical care specialists, providing definitive and empathetic care for conditions such as epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and developmental delay in a safe, customised environment for young patients. An Urgent Neurology Clinic has been established, open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM, as a walk-in facility for immediate consultations regarding early signs of neurological disturbances like dizziness or blurred vision, enabling early detection to prevent serious events. One of the most forward-thinking additions is the Stroke Risk Assessment and Prevention Clinic. This clinic identifies at-risk patients before symptom manifestation through genetic profiling, family history reports, and lifestyle tests, subsequently providing personalised recommendations for diet, exercise, and stress management. Given the alarming rise in stroke cases among young adults in India, this clinic strategically shifts focus from stroke treatment to prevention, safeguarding not only health but also the long-term emotional and financial security of families.
