The Welfare Association of Kolkata Live Band Organisers Held a General Body Meeting

News Desk, News Nation 360: To request official state recognition for regional band leaders and their crews, the Kolkata Live Band Organisers Welfare Association held a press conference and general body meeting at the Nalini Guha Sabhagruha next to Kolkata's Central Metro Station. The executive committee, led by the association's President Badal Sarkar, Founder Kumaresh Ghosh, and Advisor Advocate Asim Karmakar, emphasised that for more than 40 years, live evening music and dance performances in Bengal's hotels have provided a vital platform for legendary talents while supporting a modest livelihood for 150 registered Band Leaders, each of whom oversees a committed team of 25 to 40 artists and technicians. Pointing out that hotel establishments, performing vocalists, and technical crews are already individually registered, the committee formally urged the state government to extend official, dignified institutional recognition to the organisers themselves to ensure the long-term socioeconomic security and smooth administrative functioning of the thousands of families dependent on the hospitality performance sector. The community forum, which brought together regional stakeholders to raise labour and cultural preservation concerns, was presided over by chairperson Kailash Gupta and finished with the communal singing of the National Anthem.
