SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk, News Nation 360 : To promote education and carry out its social duty, the Tollygunge Marcopolo Association, situated at Netaji Nagar Old Market, organised a significant book distribution program on the auspicious evening of Saraswati Puja and the birth anniversary of the great national leader Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, January 23, 2026. The Association gave textbooks and notebooks to students in Classes V through VIII, drawing inspiration from Saraswati, the Goddess of Knowledge, and the principles of Netaji. Students from KMC Ward No. 98's local and government schools took part in this program. Netaji Nagar Balika Vidyalaya, Ballygunge Government High School, Khanpur Girls' High School, Gandhi Colony Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Raipur Girls' High School, Udbastu Girls' High School, Naktala High School, Jodhpur Girls' High School, and Khanpur Boys' High School were among the schools that benefited. On behalf of the Association, President Shri Raju Chakraborty, Secretary Ashok Dey, and Cultural Secretary Sankarjit Chakraborty
expressed their sincere gratitude to the headmasters, headmistresses, parents, and residents for their full cooperation. Concluding the event, Secretary Shri Dey remarked that the best basis for societal advancement is education, and genuine change can only be achieved via group efforts. The North Kolkata Inter-College District Sports and Games Association proved its strong motto by charging a nominal registration fee of only one rupee for its recent distribution program. The members of the association actively helped the students and their parents throughout the day to make sure that a warm and supportive environment was created for all of them. The organisers of this program chose January 23rd for this event because it marks the association of the traditional respect for knowledge on the day of Saraswati Puja with the vision of Netaji for discipline and youth empowerment. The residents of the area and the parents of the students highly appreciated the association for its continuous efforts and dedication to the welfare of the students in the area. This successful program further strengthened the ties of the student brigade with the families they serve in North Kolkata.
