News Desk, News Nation 360: The book Uranto Uterus, which was co-conceived by renowned author Debarati Mukhopadhyay and reproductive healthcare specialist Dr Bani Kumar Mitra (Founder & Chief Consultant, Abha Surgy Centre), was published by Deep Prakashan as part of the World IVF Day celebrations. It was formally launched at an event that included West Bengal Sports Minister Dr Indranil Khan, veteran actress Madhabi Mukhopadhyay, actress Gargee Roy Chowdhury, and Indira IVF CEO Dr Kshitiz Murdia. The ₹350 book, which was inspired by an impromptu discussion between Dr Mitra and Mukhopadhyay in Darjeeling, demystifies complicated subjects like IVF, ICSI, surrogacy, endometriosis, hysterectomy, and historical perceptions of hysteria by tracing the historical, cultural, and scientific evolution of the female body. The book, which is highlighted by an interactive panel titled "Infertility - Acceptance & Us," seeks to break down social taboos, dispel long-held beliefs, and promote compassion and educated discussion on assisted reproductive technology and reproductive health.
