News Desk, News Nation 360 : Vikram Solar, a pioneer in India's solar PV scene, announced the opening of its cutting-edge Vallam manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu, which adds 5 GW of advanced module production capacity. With this next-generation development, the firm now has a total manufacturing capacity of 9.5 GW, consolidating its position as a leading, scale-driven operator in solar technology and highlighting its rising impact in creating India's solar future. Vikram Solar commissioned the 5 GW state-of-the-art Vallam manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu, spread over 27,000 sq. m, which increases the company's total module production capacity to 9.5 GW. It is designed as India's most advanced automated clean-energy facility, powered by next-generation robotics, material-handling systems, integrated quality checks, and fully automated packaging, with several being deployed for the first time in the country for higher levels of precision, throughput, and reliability. Conceived for future-ready scalability, it would be built on TOPCon technology with seamless HJT upgrade capability, supporting M10, G12, and G12R formats. Benefits for customers will include modules bearing consistent Tier-1 quality with lower failure rates, less degradation, higher energy yields, fewer defects, faster production, more reliable supplies, and shorter lead times in accordance with global standards. The new plant continues to fortify the solar ecosystem in Tamil Nadu, supplementing Vikram Solar's Oragadam unit and the under-construction Gangaikondan facility. Gyanesh Chaudhary, Chairman & Managing Director, Vikram Solar, stated that Vallam is a watershed moment for Vikram Solar and India's solar manufacturing story. Commissioning this 5 GW plant within a year was a big goal, and delivering on it demonstrates their readiness for the scale, speed, and innovation required over the next decade. As they celebrate 20 years in this business, this facility underscores their commitment to shaping what comes next: advanced manufacturing, automation-led quality, and technological platforms that will set new standards for the sector. Vallam strengthens India's value chain and underlines their belief that Indian clean technology has the potential to lead worldwide rather than simply participate.
