News Desk, News Nation 360 : The 58th Garment Fair and B2B Expo, which will take place over three days from July 7th to 9th, 2025, in Kolkata, spanning two lac square feet, will bring the West Bengal garment industry to life. The West Bengal Garment Manufacturers and Dealers Association (WBGMDA), a key player in the sector for 60 years, is hosting this event, which is anticipated to generate a lot of business opportunities. This 58th Garment Buyers & Sellers Meet & B2B Expo is expected to generate commercial dealings valued at approximately Rs. 1200-1500 crore in the wholesale market, with over 1000 national and international brands showcasing a wide selection of readymade garments for men, women, and children. Speaking to the media, Devendra Baid, Hon'ble Secretary of West Bengal Garment Manufacturers & Dealers Association, stated that over their 50 years in business, their Buyers and Sellers Meets have consistently been successful. One of the biggest ready-made clothing trade shows in the nation is this one. Their association has remained strong and has consistently supported the apparel industry in spite of changes in the economy and business. Notably, the MSME sector has acknowledged their meeting, making it the first of its kind in their sector. The significance of the event for the economy of the state was brought out by attendance from the State Government, top businessmen, and major corporate houses. The presence of those top people indicated how important the initiative of the Association is towards increasing the economy of West Bengal. The ceremony was officiated by Sujit Bose, Minister of State for Fire, Government of West Bengal. There was also a notable presence of Hari Kishan Rathi, President WBGMDA; Vijay Kariwala, WBGMDA Senior Vice President; Pradeep Murarka, WBGMDA Vice President; Devendra Baid, Hon'ble Secretary; and Manish Agarwal, WBGMDA executive committee member, among numerous others. This association has been conducting readymade garments fairs and business-to-business (B2B) since its inception. Their objectives are to guide the country to a position of prominence in the textile supply chain across the globe and stimulate the development of a competitive, successful, and modern apparel industry. For this time, the association tried to involve the Retail Segment in the event. The Garment Buyers and Sellers Meet, hosted by WBGMDA, is now a top destination for top business houses in the country's eastern part. The event generates numerous employment opportunities and helps to increase the economy of the state to a great extent.
