News Desk, News Nation 360 : One of India's top telecom companies, Bharti Airtel ("Airtel"), has successfully installed the 2Africa Pearls cable in the nation, which will link India to Africa and Europe through the Middle East. In India, Airtel is the cable's landing partner for 2Africa Pearls. This is in collaboration with center3 and Meta, the investors of 2Africa Pearls. Airtel invested in the 2Africa Pearls subsea cable, adding more than 100 Tbps of international capacity to India and further diversifying its global network to enable the country's digital growth. As per Sharat Sinha, Director & CEO – Airtel Business, this investment increases network resilience, and Airtel is focused on aggressively diversifying its international network, as seen through the recent landing of the SEA-WE-ME-6 cable in Chennai and Mumbai, with further investments to be made to provide high uptime and better quality to customers. 2Africa Pearls cable is one of the components of the bigger 2Africa cable system, the world's longest subsea cable with a distance of more than 45,000 kilometers, linking Asia, Africa, and Europe via the Middle East, by a consortium that includes Bayobab, center3, China Mobile International, Meta, Orange, Telecom Egypt, Vodafone Group, and WIOCC, to be manufactured and installed by Alcatel Submarine Networks. Airtel's international network comprises 400,000 route kilometers spanning 50 countries and five continents with investment in 34 cables around the world, including recent investments such as 2Africa, SJC2, and Equiano, linking India with the major regions and also covering major cable systems such as i2icn, EIG, IMEWE, SEA-ME-WE-4, AAG, Unity, EASSy, GBI, and MENA Cable.
