News Desk, News Nation 360 : Ambuja Neotia presented the second edition of Woods & Wonders at the 49th International Kolkata Book Fair at Stall 290, near Gate No. 5. This carefully chosen project symbolises the Group's long-held conviction that progress and nature must coexist. Woods & Wonders 2.0, which is based on the idea of living in harmony with nature, aims to foster a community of like-minded people who find inspiration, purpose, and a sense of community in the peaceful rhythms of the natural world. Woods & Wonders is more than just an exhibition; it's a call to pause and take in the scenery. To hear what living greenery, rivers, forests, and open skies reveal when they are given room to breathe. The second volume returns with more detail, providing an immersive look into the lesser-known ecological richness of Raichak on the Ganges, after its first edition last year, which resonated with attendees at the Book Fair. Debashish Sen, the chairman of NKDA and former CMD of HIDCO, discussed the initiative's broader significance during his speech at the inauguration. He pointed out that Woods & Wonders is an example of how careful construction may develop into a dynamic environment that stimulates imagination, introspection, and accountability. He claims that the project helps people understand and care for nature rather than viewing it as an item to be consumed. The exhibition features a combination of thought-provoking photographs, videos, and paintings that showcase the diverse biodiversity of Gardenia Private Villas in Raichak. The project draws inspiration from “Green Gallery 2.0,” a previous creative immersion experience where artists and filmmakers explored the biodiversity of the Ganges region. Every artwork has a personal message about the environment, where nature is treated as a living entity and not just a backdrop. The exhibition highlights the fragile vulnerability and resilience of biodiversity in the region through the distinct perspectives of various artists. Notable guests, such as urban planners and environmental activists, were present at the inauguration to emphasise the need for society to reconnect with its natural roots. A coffee table book documenting the entire creative process was launched during the exhibition. Viewers get a glimpse into the multi-layered stories of the symbiotic relationship between human creativity and nature. The event reiterates that communities built around nature have a stronger sense of belonging and ownership.
