News Desk, News Nation 360 : Famous Author Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay inaugurated the first-ever Basanta Boi Utsav o Boimela. The esteemed presence of Mala Ray, the Hon'ble M.P. for Kolkata South; Sudip Bandopadhyay, the Hon'ble Member of Parliament for Kolkata North; and the Chairman of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation further enhanced the occasion. Prominent writers, including Amar Mitra, Pracheta Gupta, Himadri Kishore Dasgupta, Binata Roychowdhury, Debajyoti Bhattacharya, Saikat Mukhopadhyay, Jayanta Dey, and Sukanta Gangopadhyay, were in attendance, as well as Suparna Dutta, Councillor, Ward Number 40, Tridib Kr. Chatterjee, President
of the Guild, and Shri Sudhangshu Sekhar Dey, Honorary General Secretary, Guild. Its first year will be commemorated annually with Basanta Utsav o Boimela. The dates of this book fair are set for March 6–12, 2024, at College Square. There are about sixty stalls at this book fair. Approximately seventy prominent publishers are attending the fair. On the last day of the book fair, 250 kids will receive books, colouring pages, and penkaries. Two gates have been constructed for the fair, one in memory of Michael Madhusudan Dutta and Jibanananda Das, two famous writers. The Publishers and Booksellers Guild has provided support to Kolkata Municipal Corporation's Ward 40, which is organising this fair.
