The report's research on shifting consumer behaviours, digital adoption, and evolving health claims patterns highlights a significant movement towards proactive health insurance purchases and a strong preference for digital interaction. There is a clear trend of Indians actively seeking health insurance, according to the report's findings. The number of insured members increased by more than 27% between Underwriting Years 2023–2024 and 2024–2025, highlighting the growing awareness of the necessity for comprehensive health coverage, which was accelerated by rising medical expenditures. Manish Dodeja, Chief Operating Officer, Care Health Insurance, commented that their yearly trends research makes clear that Indian health insurance customers are actively looking for all-inclusive health coverage and are growing increasingly tech-savvy. Preventive healthcare and lifestyle care are becoming more important to consumers. They are directed to make sure that Care Health Insurance provides solutions that are easy to understand through these behavioural changes. They are dedicated to making technological investments to make health insurance more accessible, easier to comprehend, and flexible enough to meet the changing demands of their clients. The company is witnessing a definite trend in the way customers think about coverage. Customers from all age groups are increasing their average Sum Insured, while families are opting for a better health cover for their children. For the 0-17 age group, the average Sum Insured has risen over 7% from 2024-2025 to 2025-2026. First-time buyers aged 18-35 continue to represent a large chunk of the business portfolio, comprising over 30% in 2025-2026, while the percentage of seniors aged 60+ has advanced to nearly 14%, reflecting a growing awareness level about the use of health insurance coverage among seniors. If we examine the claims data, the most stable areas relate to dengue, malaria, common flu, respiratory/heart conditions, along with Cancer/Arthritis ~ a reflection on the influence of lifestyle diseases and the need determined by the ageing population.
