To serve the people living in the busy, densely populated neighbourhoods of Central Kolkata, Charnock Hospital is leasing this property and turning it into a Super Specialty Hospital that will be known as Charnock Lohia Hospital. Today, a press conference was held at The Park in Kolkata to announce the same. has an immediate plan to grow by building 100–200 bed super speciality hospitals around the perimeter of all of West Bengal. These hospitals will serve the medical needs of all socioeconomic classes. Burrabazar has been referred to as Kolkata's "Business Hub" for many years. With an estimated 160 crores in investment, the Charnock Lohia Hospital is expected to create over 900 jobs and boost the economy. In the state, a large number of these properties are unoccupied, idle, and vacant. Charnock Hospital is prepared to take over the current space on a long-term lease and transform it into a Super Speciality hospital throughout Bengal, meeting the region's growing healthcare needs and making a name for itself in the industry. The former Lohia Matrisadan, a heritage building in Kolkata, will be transformed into a 200-bed super speciality hospital named Charnock Lohia Hospital. This project involves restoring the building's old glory while adding modern medical facilities like operation theatres, an ICU, and a dialysis unit. Located near Girish Park Metro Station and other landmarks, the hospital aims to cater to the healthcare needs of central Kolkata with easy accessibility and ample parking.
