
News Desk, News Nation 360 : Recently, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) West Bengal State Council held its inaugural meeting to announce the newly elected office bearers for the 2024–25 term. Sandeep Kumar, Managing Director of Tata Steel Downstream Products Limited, has been elected as the Chairman and will lead the council. Under Sandeep Kumar's direction, the council will experience previously unheard-of levels of growth and development. Sandeep Kumar has over thirty years of invaluable experience within the Tata group. With his broad experience in general and commercial management and his deep knowledge of the steel sector, he is well-positioned to drive advancement. Prioritising the development of MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) was one of the main topics of discussion. The council suggested projects like training programmes in association with Academic Centres of Excellence (COEs) and helping MSME stakeholders become more competitive in the market to increase industrial output and productivity. A comprehensive agenda comprising a wide range of projects, goals, and initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable economic growth and development in the region was presented during the CII West Bengal State Council's inaugural meeting. Consistent with the worldwide movement towards digitalization, the council emphasised the importance of adopting technology to augment efficiency and competitiveness. As essential elements of the digitization agenda, proposed workshops aimed at giving MSMEs the tools they need to do business internationally, utilising statistical tools to boost productivity, and explaining the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Act were emphasised. Sandeep Kumar stated during the conference that it gave him great pleasure to take on the Chairmanship of the CII West Bengal State Council. His goal is to make West Bengal a globally competitive centre known for its inventiveness, inclusivity, and resilience by promoting an atmosphere that supports the state's sustainable economic growth and development.
