CSTARI Kolkata's Academic and Infrastructure Initiatives are Reviewed by the Minister of State (I/C) for SDE

News Desk, News Nation 360 : Recently, Jayant Chaudhary, the Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, visited CSTARI Kolkata to assess the ongoing academic reforms and the expansion of infrastructural facilities. He also reviewed the activities of CSTARI in the development of industry-specific curricula related to the flagship programs of CTS and CITS. He emphasised the need for the integration of the basic curriculum of AI for every learner. Among the new courses introduced are AI Programming Assistant, 5G Network Technician, and Semiconductor Technician. These courses also cover the specialisations of Green Hydrogen and Nuclear Power Plant Technology. The Minister laid the foundation stone for a new 200-seater auditorium and a 50-room executive hostel during his visit. The Minister emphasised the need for regular curriculum updates and the incorporation of global languages such as Japanese and German for the better placement of learners in the global arena. By enhancing the facilities and focusing on the latest technologies, CSTARI is working towards empowering the youth of the country and strengthening its position in the global arena. In his brief visit to CSTARI Kolkata, he engaged with CSTARI’s efforts to align with the changing demands of the labour market and its efforts to expand its infrastructure. CSTARI exceeded its annual training target by training 1,211 participants against its target of 1,200, including Engineering Services Officers and master trainers for PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. He urged that the development of training curricula be undertaken with industry experts and sector skill councils so that it remains globally competitive. As part of its long-range development plans, he laid the foundation for a 200-seat auditorium and reviewed plans for developing a new academic block and a 50-room executive hostel. These developments will support CSTARI’s growing portfolio of training programs that now include emerging technologies and language training like Japanese and German to make its students globally employable. The visit was marked by a tree-planting drive that underlined the government’s commitment to developing skill hubs that will be future-ready and environmentally friendly. CSTARI is now poised to take centre stage in developing India’s position as a global skill hub so that its citizens continue to be globally competitive in an evolving world economy.
