CtrlS Inaugurates its First Datacenter in Kolkata

News Desk, News Nation 360 : With the opening of its first greenfield datacenter in Kolkata, CtrlS Datacenters Ltd., the biggest Rated-4 datacenter operator in Asia, has raised the bar for digital infrastructure in eastern India. The first Rated-4 datacenter in the region, the state-of-the-art facility is situated in Bengal Silicon Valley, New Town, and marks the beginning of CtrlS' ₹2,200 crore promise to construct the most sophisticated datacenter ecosystem in eastern India. The CtrlS Kolkata Datacenter Campus boasts several advanced features ensuring resilience, efficiency, and future readiness. It is AI-ready, supporting high-density racks crucial for handling intensive workloads. The facility employs state-of-the-art, energy-efficient cooling systems to maintain optimal temperature and performance. Security is prioritised with a robust 9-zone architecture, providing comprehensive protection across multiple layers. The campus is designed for LEED Platinum certification, reflecting its commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly operations. Power reliability is ensured through dual sources with N+N active feeds, minimising downtime risks. Clients benefit from connectivity options with access to multiple ISPs, cloud providers, and internet exchanges, enhancing network flexibility and redundancy. Additionally, the infrastructure complies with Seismic Zone 3 requirements, making it robust against natural disasters and ensuring business continuity. Sridhar Pinnapureddy, Founder & CEO, CtrlS Datacenters, stated that in their effort to democratise top-notch datacenter infrastructure throughout India, this launch marks a significant turning point. With the state's innovative policies, they are optimistic that Eastern India, which is poised for a digital revolution, will become a major centre for innovation and development. The first phase of the facility's four-phase plan, which will scale to over 60 MW to accommodate the growing demand from businesses, government organisations, and hyperscalers, offers 16 MW of IT load capacity. The complex, which was designed with hyperscale efficiency, AI workloads, and seamless scalability in mind, will serve as the cornerstone of Kolkata's ascent to prominence as the region's leading data centre hub.
