SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk, News Nation 360 : Three concurrent court-appointed Local Commissions were conducted recently in key Delhi markets, including two locations in Sadar Bazar and one in Dilshad Garden, as part of a major enforcement campaign aimed at protecting consumers and stopping the sale of counterfeit goods. The raids were carried out in accordance with an ex parte decision issued by the Hon'ble High Court of Delhi in a lawsuit Joy Creators LLP filed alleging trademark and copyright infringement. Following orders from the Delhi High Court, Local Commissioners carried out coordinated raids at several designated locations. They discovered substantial amounts of purportedly fake cosmetics, labels, packaging materials, and promotional materials that mimicked the trade dress and branding of Joy personal care products, a brand that Indian consumers have trusted for decades. The Commissioners used a thorough inventory and photographic documentation to document the seizures. The court-mandated activities were carried out successfully, and all infringing goods were confiscated and sealed in accordance with legal procedure, despite minor opposition at a few locations. The Hon'ble Delhi High Court is now holding additional hearings on the case. In addition to strengthening consumer protection and defending intellectual property rights, the move represents a significant step in the fight against the proliferation of fake cosmetics. Commenting on the development, Sunil Agarwal, Co-founder & Chairman, Joy Personal Care (RSH Global) stated that in addition to violating intellectual property rights, counterfeit goods seriously jeopardise the security and confidence of consumers. Honesty, trust, and the welfare of their customers are non-negotiable at JOY, and they take seriously the trust that Indian homes have placed in them over many years. To safeguard customers and maintain brand integrity, strict enforcement and prompt legal action are crucial. They commend the prompt action taken in accordance with the directives of the Hon'ble Delhi High Court, and they will continue to assist the authorities as needed to stop such occurrences.
