News Desk, News Nation 360 : Adult swimmers had the ideal chance to test their swim times and push their limitations at the recent Cannonball Swimathon, which was organised by Eastern Metropolitan Club (EMC) in partnership with TCI-TRI Coaching India. The event was created to give adult swimmers the opportunity to participate in a thrilling and expertly run competition. It was organised by TCI – TRI Coaching India, a reputable triathlon coaching firm with headquarters in Gurugram. Sanjeeb Ghosh, Secretary and Managing Director of Eastern Metropolitan Club, stated that events like the Cannonball Swimathon, which not only encourage physical fitness and a sense of community but also provide adult swimmers with a unique chance to compete at a professional level, are supported and co-organised by EMC with pride. Since there aren't many swimming competitions for adults, cannonball was created. They see so many folks swimming in apartment buildings or clubs; they have no idea what it would be like to swim great distances or compete in a race. Additionally, they urge young swimmers aged 12 and up to take up swimming. They had a 70-year-old man swim 10 kilometres in Gurugram; age is not a barrier to competition. The Cannonball Swimathon, inaugurated in 2024 in Gurugram, was scaled up to three cities—Kolkata, Jaipur, and Gurugram—in 2025 with Policy Bazaar as the presenting title sponsor, a testament to its stature as a major competitive platform for swimmers. The Kolkata event, hosted for the first time at Eastern Metropolitan Club, which also co-produced the event, utilised the club's international-standard 50m pool to organise several race categories from 200m to 10km. The event was dignified by the attendance of Debashish Kumar, Member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, and was successfully able to unite adult swimmers to share in the fun and challenge of competitive swimming, further enriching the sport.
