News Desk, News Nation 360: With the introduction of its digital-first brand, WeMe, Emami Agrotech Limited (EAL), the branded foods division of the ₹30,000 crore Emami Group, has formally joined the packaged snacking industry in India. With a planned expenditure of around ₹750 crore and a goal revenue of ₹1,000 crore in the next five to seven years, the brand makes its debut in three categories: Jhuri Aloo Bhaja, a regional favourite in Eastern India, a variety of potato chips, and India's first portable chiplet-format Choco Hazelnut Spread. The strategic expansion beyond edible oils, according to Emami Group Directors Aditya Vardhan Agarwal, Manish Goenka, and Vidula Agarwal, uses creator-led marketing and quick-commerce channels across major metro areas, such as Kolkata, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad, before branching out into general trade to capitalise on Gen Z and Millennials' all-day snacking habits and create over 4,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.
