Geological Survey of India Marks the 79th Anniversary of Independence

News Desk, News Nation 360 : Across all of its offices nationwide, the Geological Survey of India (GSI), a leading geoscientific body and an affiliated office of the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, marked the 79th Independence Day with patriotic enthusiasm. Asit Saha, Director General, GSI, unfurled the national flag at the Central Headquarters in Kolkata in front of Dr. Joydeep Guha, ADG & HOD, Dr. Saibal Ghosh, Dy.DG (P&A), Pradeep Singh, Dy.DG, Mission-1, and Siladitya Sengupta, Dy.DG, PSS, as well as other high-ranking officials and employees. In his address, Asir Saha paid homage to the valiant freedom fighters whose sacrifices laid the foundation of an independent India and reflected on the collective journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047. He underlined how important cooperation, independence, and creativity are to achieving this goal. In keeping with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, he emphasised GSI's rich 175-year history and reaffirmed the organisation's dedication to promoting geoscientific research in critical mineral exploration, utilising AI/ML and deep learning technologies, improving offshore exploration, reducing natural hazards, fostering climate resilience, and supporting India's clean energy objectives. He also emphasised how GSI has improved the speed and calibre of its operations over the past year by implementing several technical initiatives in a variety of its job sectors. In order to contribute to the development of the country, Asit Saha advised everyone to work diligently and investigate new opportunities. As the festivities came to an end, everyone pledged to support GSI's goals and carry on providing the country with honour, commitment, and top-notch science.
