SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk, News Nation 360: Sunrise Spices (ITC Ltd) in collaboration with the Crafts Council of West Bengal has launched an innovative revival campaign for Durga Puja 2026, highlighting the artisanal heritage of the haathpaakha (traditional handcrafted Bengali hand fan) that also mirrors Sunrise's radiant insignia. Aimed at bringing the traditional craft into the realm of contemporary festive fashion, storytelling and community rituals, the campaign was unveiled at a special function in the presence of Suresh Chand (Business Head, Sunrise Spices, ITC Ltd), Oindrilla Dutt (Vice President, Crafts Council of West Bengal), fashion designer Abhishek Roy (Roy Calcutta), Tollywood actor Swastika Dutta and Meghdut Roy Chowdhury (CIO, Techno India Group & Founder, Make Calcutta Relevant Again), who spoke about the need to revive the handcrafted palm-leaf, cane and embroidered haathpaakhas as it not only sustains the rural handicraft industry but also brings contemporary relevance to everyday icons of Bengali cultural identity (Bangaliyana).
