News Desk, News Nation 360 : At a panel discussion led by writer and social activist Saira Shah Halim, author Sumant Batra launched his best-selling book "Anarkali" in Kolkata. Prominent panellists included writer, editor, and festival director Anjum Katyal, National Award-winning director and theatre personality Ashoke Vishwanathan, and editor-in-chief of Om Books International Shantanu Ray Chaudhuri. Anarkali, a national bestseller, has achieved extraordinary success. Within forty-five days of the book's release on December 9, 2023, the first print run of 3000 copies of Anarkali was completely sold out. On December 9, 2023, renowned director Vishal Bhardwaj launched the book. Bhardwaj, who is impressed by the narrative, has offered to adapt the book into a movie. Renowned worldwide insolvency attorney Sumant Batra practises law. Ranked among the top 30 restructuring attorneys in the world, Batra is a visiting professor at National Law University, Delhi, a distinguished fellow of the Government of India Think Tank, and an international fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy. He is the founder of the first insolvency-focused institute in the nation, Insolvency Law Academy. He has been heavily involved in global insolvency reforms as a senior consultant for the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank Group, the OECD, and the International Monetary Fund. In India, he is regarded as the founder of insolvency reforms.
During the panel discussion, Anjum Katyal remarked, “...what I found very interesting was sort of the nitty gritty detail of historical research that came through and this is something I talked to Sumant ji about.”
