Launch of Mithu Chakraborti's First Book, Anatomy of Misery: Part I: Men's Misery

News Desk, News Nation 360: Author Mithu Chakraborti's first book, Anatomy of Misery, Part I: Men's Misery, was introduced by publisher Pages and Chapters at Kolkata's historic Oxford Bookshop. The narrative nonfiction work, which costs ₹499, is made up of twelve interwoven case studies that explore suppressed male emotional vulnerability, societal provider pressure, loneliness, and domestic abuse. The case studies revolve around a fictional psychologist named Dr. Leela Menon. Actor-author Barun Chanda, director Ashoke Vishwanathan, and psychologist Dr. Nilanjana Bagchi participated in a panel discussion during the release, which was moderated by arts curator Oindrila Dutt. Chakraborti, a seasoned corporate executive, highlighted that sympathy for males does not lessen empathy for women, drawing literary parallels to Arthur Conan Doyle, Oliver Sacks, and Mitch Albom. He confirmed that a companion volume, Part II: Working Women's Misery, is already in creation.
